Archive reconstruction
The original Political Hurricane page is no longer available in our recovered database. This archival version is reconstructed from a substantial surviving mirror and is presented as a historical record, not as a current editorial position.
This November 2014 follow-up continued The Political Hurricane’s examination of organizations associated with the Florida Democratic Party chair debate, turning from Ruth’s List to Florida Watch Action.
The surviving mirror shows that the article reviewed state records and tax filings and questioned how much of the organization’s activity directly supported Democratic candidates. It discussed reported payments, consulting expenses and contributions to other political organizations, and argued that readers should distinguish between attacking Republican officeholders and building durable support for candidates at the state and local level.
The piece also connected Florida Watch Action’s leadership to the broader argument over Allison Tant and the direction of the Florida Democratic Party. Its central concern was organizational effectiveness and donor transparency, including the implications of operating through a 501(c)(4) structure.
Because the original page body has not been recovered independently, this version does not reproduce the missing article word for word. It preserves the original title, publication date and URL while summarizing only material that survives in the mirror.
