ThePoliticalHurricane.com has a publication history that predates the current site.
The domain previously hosted an independent political publication during the 2010s. The domain later changed hands. The current Political Hurricane is a new publication using the historic domain and brand name; it is not presented as a continuation of the former editorial team.
The historical archive
Where original articles from the earlier publication can be reliably recovered, we preserve them at their original publication dates and, wherever practical, their original URLs. Historical pieces are clearly marked From the Political Hurricane Archive.
Archive articles reflect the reporting, commentary, political arguments and context of the period in which they were originally published. Their preservation does not mean the current editors endorse the opinions, conclusions, endorsements or political positions expressed in them.
What we restore — and what we do not
We restore historical text only when we can verify it from surviving copies, archived material, citations or other reliable records. We do not invent missing paragraphs or reconstruct political commentary from memory or inference.
If only part of an original article can be verified, the page will be identified as a partial restoration. Where original authorship cannot be verified, we will not guess.
Current publication
New articles are produced independently under the present Political Hurricane editorial standards. Current reporting, explainers and analysis are distinct from the historical archive and should not be read as representing the views of the earlier publication.
Corrections and archive material
Current articles may be corrected and updated under our Corrections Policy. Historical articles are handled differently: we preserve the historical record rather than silently rewriting old political commentary with modern hindsight. Where clarification is necessary, we may add an editor’s note while keeping the original material identifiable.
If you possess an original copy, screenshot or other reliable source for a missing historical article, please contact us. Reconstructing the archive accurately is more important than filling every old URL.
