Archive record — original body not recovered
The original Political Hurricane article body is missing. A surviving contemporary self-reference confirms the article and preserves part of its argument, but not enough to recreate the full piece.
The Political Hurricane published “Lying in the Bed: The Exact Moment Hillary Clinton Lost the Election” on January 18, 2017.
Five days later, Dave Trotter linked the article in a comment at The Florida Squeeze while discussing President Trump’s withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership. In that comment, Trotter argued that anti-trade voters no longer trusted Democrats, that Trump had taken political ownership of the issue, and that Hillary Clinton’s position on the TPP had contributed to that loss of trust.
That surviving comment gives us one verified strand of the original article’s argument. It does not identify enough of the missing piece to determine what event the headline called the “exact moment” Clinton lost the election or to reconstruct the full causal case.
This page therefore preserves the historical article and the surviving trade-related argument without inventing the missing analysis.
